Practical info

Price? For translations we use a price per line. A line consists of 60 characters and spaces. The rate is calculated on the basis of the target language and ranges between 0.85 and 1.20 euro (depending on the language combination and the deadline). For copywriting, revision and editing we apply an hourly rate (± 35 € per hour). For subtitling files you pay 0.70 to 0.85 € per finished subtitle. We apply an extra charge for sworn translations, for extremely urgent jobs, and for large source texts which can only be provided on paper (no electronic file). You pay less (read: discount!) if your source text is general in nature, if you furnish relevant terminology lists or sample texts, and if you regularly order jobs from us. Ask in advance for a noncommittal offer, so you´ll know exactly where you stand!
File formats and delivery? You can send us documents to be translated by e-mail, fax or post. We will then contact you as quickly as possible to agree on a price and a deadline. We can handle virtually all file formats, and you will get the translation back in exactly the same layout as your source text. For subtitling jobs, you can provide either analog or digital video files.
Translation tools? At Stilitekst, the translations are done with the aid of the translation memory  Déjà Vu. By storing words, sentences or paragraphs from the source and target languages in structured databases, this programme ensures that the terminology remains internally consistent and that consistency between different texts from the same customer is also guaranteed. Déjà Vu is not an automatic translation software. The package only makes useful information available which the translator himself has put into it. Technological resources offer many advantages, but translation is and remains an art where feeling and creativity play the most important role!
Invoicing? In principle, an invoice is prepared after each job. Established customers receive just a single invoice each month, listing all of the jobs from that month. The payment period is thirty days after the invoice date, unless some other period was agreed in advance.
